A Mexican-American writer and director from Boyle Heights, CA and Mexicali, BC, Anna Day creates films rooted in lived experience and cultural specificity. Her work is driven by a commitment to put brown women at the center of the frame with the full complexity and humanity they deserve.

A routine hypnotherapy session turns sinister when a woman finds herself trapped in her own subconscious and is forced to relive her wounds to get out.
i found the coordinates is Anna’s debut short film as writer and director. A psychological drama/thriller rooted in anxiety and healing. Shot entirely by a brown creative team. The film is a proof of concept for a bold new voice in independent cinema. This film follows a woman through a series of unresolved memories. She is physically reliving some of her worst memories that created her trauma in order to get through it. This is a liberating solo hike through her subconscious mind. Each memory is a wound her mind refuses to let her ignore. Guided only by her therapist’s voice from outside of her body, she fights her way through the darkness until she finally surfaces shaken and for the first time free.
